XP ORX TESTS
COMMENTS I bought an ORX a few months ago to get covers made for it; i do this with most new detectors that hit the street. Even lighter than the Deus, but i don’t like the new stem, looks cheap and the holes in the plastic at the back will be a pig to clean. Mine is fitted with the 9’’ HF coil , this is what I consider the best coil, and is what I use on my Deus I like the no frills, hard hitting performance and i used it several times with good results, i decided to keep it and to sell my Deus, it actual gave consistent results the first two times i took it out, my pet hate with the Deus is that it seems to have its own agenda and can work differently every time i take it out, even when using the same settings on the same site. The third time i took it out, same field, same settings, i could not stop finding coke, i had never dug any before with it? And i could not stop digging iron the week after? Thought it was too good to be true So the honeymoon period was over and i started to think logically It’s got 4 programs on it, two are for Gold Prospecting, the other two, ‘Coin fast’ is completely useless and will seriously reduce your finds, leaving the ‘Coin Deep’ this is great and gives top performance without having to twiddle with loads of settings. So here i am about to sell my Deus to replace it with ORX with exactly the same performance as my Deus with less options, hmmm Looks like the Deus is staying, if I were buying an XP for the 1st time then it would be the ORX, because I don’t need the multiple setting options the Deus gives me, although some might, when I get a detector I tend to set it up to its optimum performance then not really touch it again, except for the odd tweak. If you have an XP Deus then pointless changing, if you are an XP 1st timer then save a load of £’s and get the ORX , unless of course you have loads of money and like to twiddle with settings! |
