Instructions below

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS: FREEDOM 1 COIN COMMANDER (Metal Control Housing) CONTROL FUNCTIONS Power/Detection Depth Control: Rotate knob clockwise to turn detector on. Further rotation increases detection depth. Trash Elimination Control: This full range adjustment control allows you to determine the junk items you wish to eliminate from detection. Ground Elimination Control: Permits adjustment to eliminate the effects of earth iron minerals. Audio Control: Select the desired threshold sound level with this control. Master Control Switch: (End of handle.) This switch selects operating modes and retunes the detector. (1) Press left and release to select Manually Adjustable Ground Elimination All-Metal Mode. (2) Press right and release to select the Automated Ground/Trash Elimination Mode. (3) Press left and hold to select the Electronic Pinpointing Mode. (4) Each time the switch is pressed left or right, the detector retunes to the pre-selected audio level. BATTERY TEST When the power is turned on, the #1 battery circuit is checked automatically. Circuit #1, detection batteries, checks audibly. Three beeps indicate that the batteries have a very good charge, two beeps indicate an adequate charge, and one beep means the batteries should be replaced. Circuit #2, the audio battery, should be replaced when audio volume is no longer adequate. To replace the batteries, remove battery tray from detector. Notice the circuit designations on the side of the battery tray. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS: Set controls to INITIAL SETTINGS (∆) positions. Press the Master Control Switch to the left and release. Scan the searchcoil at about one to two feet per second. Maintain a one- or twoinch searchcoil height above the ground. All metal targets other than rusty iron will produce an audio sound. To eliminate “junk” targets, press the Master Control Switch to the right and release to activate the detector’s adjustable trash elimination circuitry. Dig all targets that produce an increase in the signal volume. PINPOINTING Press the Master Control Switch to the left and hold to activate the detector’s pinpointing operation mode. Scan the target area again. The detector gives a more pronounced signal when the searchcoil is held directly above or criss-crossed over the target.TARGET ACCEPTANCE & REJECTION When a metallic object is accepted, the detector’s speaker or earphone sound will increase from your pre-selected audio threshold level. When a metal object is eliminated (rejected), the sound will decrease or become silent. Some rejected targets will cause the audio to “break up” or sound erratic. The following explains the various Trash Elimination Settings: Rusty Iron: Mostly rusty iron will be eliminated. Nails: Nails and rusty iron will be eliminated. Foil: Bottlecaps, foil, nails and rusty iron, will be eliminated. Salt water will be eliminated near this setting. Pulltabs: Pulltabs, bottlecaps, foil, nails and rusty iron will be eliminated. Nickels, rings and many foreign coins and tokens may also be eliminated at this setting. Test typical trash items before operating. To learn more about your Freedom 1 Coin Commander, study the following Controls Adjustment Section. CONTROLS ADJUSTMENT This detector has INITIAL SETTING points (∆) located on the control panel. By first rotating the controls to these INITIAL SETTING points, you quickly adjust the detector for operation over average ground. Then, adjust AUDIO to your desired level, either “silent” or “faint” sound. You may now operate satisfactorily without further adjustment. For optimum performance, as you become more familiar with your Freedom 1 Coin Commander, slight (+) or (-) adjustments to the Detection Depth and Trash and Ground Elimination controls may be necessary. GROUND ELIMINATION Since the INITIAL SETTING (∆) of the Ground Elimination Control is for average iron minerals, minor adjustments may be necessary in your area if you wish to electronically pinpoint more accurately. Follow these procedures to fine tune this control. 1. Hold searchcoil approximately three feet above the earth. 2. Press Master Control Switch to the left, release, then lower the searchcoil to two inches above ground level. 3. Notice audio response. Raise searchcoil. 4. If sound DECREASES, set control higher and repeat Steps 1 through 3. If sound INCREASES, the control is set too high. Lower the control setting and repeat Steps 1 through 3.
